Welcome
It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the joint meeting of the British Societies for Cell and Developmental Biology and the Japanese Society for Developmental Biologists. This conference is our flagship event for 2012 and provides a unique forum that brings together a wide cross-section of the scientific community as the highlight conference of the European Cell and Developmental Biology year.
The 2012 Spring Conference is expected to attract 400 delegates, many of whom will be budget holding principal investigators, and we anticipate the participation of many leading suppliers as exhibitors and sponsors.
The Japanese Society for the Developmental Biologists and the British Societies for Cell Biology and Development Biology are long established Learned Societies in their respective fields. Together they have in excess of 3,500 active members in the UK, Japan and throughout the world.
The meeting features a series of plenary and parallel sessions, with an outstanding line up of speakers from around the world. There are three highlight prize lectures –the Hooke Medal Lecture (BSCB), Waddington Medal Lecture (BSDB and the Beddington prize lecture (best PhD student) as well as poster sessions and social events.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s BSDB Plenary speaker is Denis Duboule and the BSCB plenary is Professor J. Richard McIntosh, University of Colorado.
Please continue to browse through the website for full details of the conference, including information on registration, abstract submission, the scientific and social programme as well as details of our sponsors and exhibitors, whose support and contribution to the conference are very much appreciated.
We are incredibly excited about the 2012 Spring Conference, offering a stimulating and informative programme, together with many social opportunities for networking. For anyone working in cell or developmental biology, the BSCB/BSDB/JSDB Joint Spring Conference is a must.
We hope you can join us and look forward to welcoming you to Warwick.
